Prescribed Fire on Private Lands Workshop

This training is designed for private landowners and land managers, and anyone else who is interested in learning more about how to plan and implement prescribed fire on private lands. The workshop will highlight successes from neighboring counties, including the prescribed burn association model that is currently gaining momentum in Humboldt County and across the North State.

This training is designed for private landowners and land managers, and anyone else who is interested in learning more about how to plan and implement prescribed fire on private lands.   • Options for prescribed fire on private lands, including prescribed burn associations and CAL FIRE Vegetation Management Program

  • Prescribed fire laws and regulations

  • Air quality and smoke management

  • Burn planning and unit preparation

  • Ignition techniques

  • Fire weather websites and tools

  • Safety and personal protective equipment

  • Grants and other funding opportunities

  • Formation of a Mendocino County Prescribed Burn Association!

This event is $35 and includes lunch and refreshments.
